Research description

Dr Mazhar was a Medical Undergraduate at the University of Oxford and completed his Clinical Training in London. He undertook Specialist Training in Medical Oncology at the Hammersmith and Charing Cross Hospitals in London. He was awarded a PhD by Imperial College London for his research in Prostate Cancer. He has also previously received the McElwain Prize from the Association of Cancer Physicians and the Medical Research Society Young Researchers Prize in Oncology in for his research. He was appointed to his current post as Consultant in Medical Oncology in January 2007. His clinical and research interests are in Urological Cancers. He is the Principal Investigator of numerous clinical trials in Prostate, Bladder and Testis Cancers. He is a member of National Cancer Research Network Testis Cancer Clinical Studies Group and is current Chair of its Quality of Life Subgroup. Dr Mazhar also has an interest in Postgraduate Medical Education and is the Regional Training Programme Director for Medical Oncology.
