Professor Hendrik Van Veen is pleased to consider applications from prospective PhD students.

Research description: 

Our research focusses on molecular mechanisms of multidrug transport proteins that efflux cytotoxic drugs away from their intracellular targets. These transport systems reduce the efficay of chemotherapeutic agents in the clinic and affect drug pharmacokinetics. In particular, we focus of ATP-binding cassette transporters such as the breast cancer resistance protein (ABCG2).
