Dr Smyth work focuses primarily on clinical trials and translational research associated with these. She is currently working on clinical trials development in oesophagogastric and colorectal cancer with a focus on personalised medicine and immune-oncology. Dr Smyth is leading trial development nationally as a member of the NCRI clinical studies group and internationally as secretary of the EORTC gastrointestinal cancers group.
Dr Doherty leads the lung cancer research portfolio in the Cambridge Cancer Trials Centre and is Principal/Chief Investigator for a number of interventional clinical trials and other observational and translational research studies. His interests include development of novel genomic/precision medicine and immunotherapy approaches for cancer patients. He is the Clinical Lead for Cancer in the East Genomic Laboratory Hub, a member of the NHS England Genomic Test Evaluation Working Group and sits on the Executive Committee of AACR Project GENIE.
