Research description

Aisling received her undergraduate degree in Genetics from Trinity College Dublin and PhD from Dublin City University. She completed postdoctoral fellowships in the breast cancer field at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute (with Professor Jason Carroll), partially funded by an IRCSET Inspire Marie Curie Fellowship. Aisling spent 2 years as a Principal Scientific Associate in Dr Duncan Odom’s lab at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, analysing non-coding regions of the genome. She is now Group Research Manager with Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald at the MRC Cancer Unit in Cambridge. The Fitzgerald group focus on early detection of Oesophageal cancer and have pioneered the CytospongeTM Technology.
