Research description

Using a novel proteomic technique, plasma membrane profiling, we aim to determine the cell surface proteome of myeloma cell lines, as well as myeloma cells and normal plasma cells from patients in a quantitative manner. Plasma membrane proteins that are aberrantly expressed in myeloma cells will be identified and serve as potential antigen targets for monoclonal antibody therapy as well as help elucidate the immune evasion mechanisms employed by myeloma cells.
