Exciting PhD Studentships available in Radiology with Dr Ferdia Gallagher
Be part of an exciting programme to image metabolism in cancer patients using a new technique called hyperpolarised carbon-13 MRI. The technique is a novel method to non-invasively detect tissue metabolism using MRI, allowing a breakdown product of glucose to be imaged in real-time, as well as downstream metabolic products such as lactate. The images generated probe tumour metabolism at unprecedented sensitivity and allow metabolic heterogeneity to be studied in ways not previously possible.
